Junior Ambassador

This is the backbone of the entire project. Getting lawnmowers into the hands of underserved youth so they can reap the benefits of running their own business. Once someone is identified as a good fit for the program, they will be asked to fill out a short application mainly to gauge their interest and get them excited about moving forward.

After being accepted into the program as a Junior Ambassador of The Lawnmower Project, they will attend an orientation, either individually or in a group.  During this time, they will meet their lawnmower and learn how to maintain and operate it.  There will be a demonstration on another mower of how their mower was likely fixed.  This will include changing the spark plug and air filter as well as taking apart the carburetor, cleaning and reassembling it.  They will get to pick out the book they will be reading as part of the program at this time as well.  We will then have a presentation on marketing techniques, bookkeeping, and opening a checking and savings account.  They will then be able to officially name their company.  This should be an exciting part for them and will aid in building their pride, confidence, and motivation.
